Data Privacy & Protection Services in UAE
What Are Data Privacy & Protection Services?
Data privacy and protection services help an organisation lawfully collect, use, store and share personal data while meeting the UAE PDPL, GDPR and sector rules. They combine legal mapping, governance, technical safeguards and staff awareness into one privacy programme.
In the UAE, Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (PDPL), the DIFC Data Protection Law, the ADGM Data Protection Regulations, the Dubai Health Data Law and CBUAE consumer protection rules all set obligations for controllers and processors. Organisations serving EU customers must also meet GDPR.
Our Dubai-based privacy consultants build the policies, records, controls and evidence you need to comply with confidence and respond quickly to data subject requests and breaches.
Data Privacy Challenges We Solve
Unclear PDPL obligations
Many UAE businesses are unsure whether the PDPL, DIFC or ADGM laws apply to them, what a lawful basis is, or when a DPO and DPIA are mandatory.
No visibility of personal data
Personal data is spread across CRMs, HR systems, cloud apps and third parties with no record of processing activities (RoPA) or data flows.
Cross-border data transfers
Transfers to cloud regions, group entities and vendors outside the UAE need adequacy checks, contracts and safeguards that most teams have not documented.
Slow response to requests and breaches
Without defined processes, data subject access requests and the 72-hour breach notification clock are missed, creating regulatory and reputational risk.
Privacy treated as a one-off project
Policies are written once and never operationalised, so controls, consent and vendor contracts drift out of compliance.

Data Privacy UAE FAQs
What is the UAE PDPL and who must comply?
The UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) applies to organisations established in the UAE that process personal data, and to foreign organisations processing data of individuals in the UAE. Free zones such as DIFC and ADGM have their own data protection laws, and certain sectors such as health and banking have additional rules.
Do I need a Data Protection Officer in the UAE?
Under the PDPL, a DPO is required where processing is high-risk, large-scale, involves systematic monitoring or sensitive data. DIFC and ADGM also require DPOs in specific cases. Our DPO-as-a-Service option gives you a certified DPO without hiring full time.
How does PDPL compare with GDPR?
The PDPL is closely modelled on GDPR, with similar principles, data subject rights, DPIAs and breach notification. Key differences include consent requirements, cross-border transfer rules and the role of the UAE Data Office. We map both laws into one control set so you comply with each efficiently.
How long does a privacy compliance project take?
A gap assessment takes 2 to 4 weeks. Implementing policies, RoPA, DPIAs and controls typically takes 2 to 5 months depending on the number of systems, jurisdictions and vendors involved.
What are the penalties for non-compliance in the UAE?
The PDPL allows administrative penalties set by Cabinet decision, while DIFC and ADGM can impose fines of up to several hundred thousand US dollars per breach, in addition to reputational damage and loss of customer trust.
Do you provide privacy services outside Dubai?
Yes. We serve clients across the UAE including Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, and across the GCC and MEA region, including Saudi PDPL and Qatar PDPPL compliance.
