Cloud Security Monitoring in UAE
What Is Cloud Security Monitoring?
Cloud security monitoring is the continuous collection and analysis of cloud telemetry — control plane activity, identity sign-ins, workload behaviour, network flows and SaaS audit logs — to detect misuse, compromise and policy violations, and to respond before damage is done.
It differs from traditional monitoring because the most dangerous cloud events are legitimate API calls made by a stolen identity: a new role assignment, an added service principal credential, a storage account made public, a mailbox rule created. Detection depends on understanding intent, not matching malware signatures.
NESA/UAE IA, DESC ISR, CBUAE and ADHICS all require continuous monitoring and log retention, and the PDPL requires timely breach detection and notification.
Monitoring Challenges We Solve
Control plane blindness
Nobody watches who creates roles, keys and service principals, which is how cloud takeover starts.
Identity attacks at speed
Token theft, consent phishing and MFA fatigue succeed because no one is watching sign-in anomalies in real time.
Alert overload from native tools
Defender for Cloud and GuardDuty generate volume nobody triages, so real detections are lost.
Multi-cloud fragmentation
Azure, AWS and SaaS alerts live in separate consoles with no correlation between them.
Retention and evidence gaps
Logs expire before an investigation needs them, failing both forensics and audit.
Our Cloud Monitoring Services
24/7 Cloud SOC Monitoring
UAE-based analysts watching cloud telemetry around the clock with defined escalation and SLAs.
Control Plane & Identity Detection
Role assignments, key creation, consent grants, impossible travel and privileged activity monitoring.
Microsoft 365 & SaaS Monitoring
Mailbox rules, OAuth app consent, sharing anomalies and data exfiltration signals.
Workload & Container Threat Detection
Runtime detection across virtual machines, containers and serverless functions.
SIEM Integration & Detection Engineering
Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk or QRadar onboarding with cloud-specific use cases mapped to MITRE ATT&CK.
Automated Response Playbooks
Disable tokens, revoke sessions, quarantine workloads and block identities within agreed authority.
Continuous Posture Drift Alerting
Detect and alert when configuration drifts away from your secure baseline.
Compliance Reporting & Retention
Log retention and reports formatted for NESA/UAE IA, DESC ISR, CBUAE, ADHICS and PCI DSS.
Our Monitoring Approach
1. Onboard Telemetry
Connect cloud control planes, identity, workloads and SaaS audit logs into the monitoring platform.
2. Tune Detections
Deploy and tune cloud-specific use cases to cut false positives and cover real attack paths.
3. Monitor & Respond
24/7 triage, investigation and containment within agreed response authority.
4. Report & Improve
Monthly reporting, posture drift tracking and continuous detection improvement.
Why Choose Skytech for Cloud Monitoring?
Skytech Cyber Cloud runs a 24/7 SOC in the UAE built on Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR, with cloud engineers and detection specialists in the same team. We monitor cloud estates for banks, government entities, healthcare providers and enterprises across the UAE and GCC.
- Cloud-native detections: use cases written for identity and control plane abuse, not repurposed endpoint rules.
- In-region SOC: UAE-based analysts with data-residency awareness and regional threat context.
- Multi-cloud correlation: Azure, AWS and SaaS signals correlated into one incident view.
- Response, not just alerts: containment actions executed within your pre-approved authority.

Cloud Monitoring FAQs
Is Microsoft Defender for Cloud enough on its own?
Defender for Cloud provides strong signal, but it generates alerts rather than outcomes. Without analysts triaging, correlating across identity and SaaS, and responding 24/7, most alerts go unreviewed. We operate it as part of a managed service rather than leaving it as a dashboard.
What cloud events should always be monitored?
Privileged role assignments, new service principal or access key creation, OAuth consent grants, conditional access policy changes, public exposure of storage, security tool disablement, mass data access and unusual sign-in patterns. These are the hallmarks of cloud compromise.
Do you monitor Microsoft 365 as well as Azure?
Yes. Microsoft 365 is often the first thing attacked, so we monitor Exchange, SharePoint, Teams and Entra ID activity alongside Azure and AWS infrastructure.
How long are cloud logs retained?
We align retention to the strictest requirement that applies to you, typically 12 months minimum for NESA, DESC ISR, CBUAE and PCI DSS, with searchable hot storage for recent data and cost-efficient archive for the remainder.
Can you respond automatically to cloud threats?
Yes, within the response authority you pre-approve. Common automated actions include revoking sessions and tokens, disabling compromised identities, isolating workloads and removing malicious OAuth consents.
How quickly can monitoring be onboarded?
Core Azure and Microsoft 365 telemetry can be onboarded and monitored within two to three weeks. Multi-cloud estates with container and SaaS sources typically take four to six weeks for full coverage.
