Cloud Workload Protection in UAE
What Is Cloud Workload Protection?
Cloud workload protection secures the compute layer: operating systems and applications on virtual machines, container workloads and serverless functions. It combines vulnerability assessment, configuration hardening, file integrity monitoring, application control, runtime threat detection and response.
Posture management tells you a virtual machine is exposed; workload protection tells you something is executing on it right now that should not be. Both are needed, because attackers who get in through a vulnerable application leave no configuration trace.
Workload protection matters most for internet-facing servers, workloads processing regulated data under PDPL, ADHICS or PCI DSS, and legacy systems that cannot be patched quickly.
Workload Challenges We Solve
Unpatched cloud servers
Virtual machines spun up and forgotten, running vulnerable services exposed to the internet.
No runtime visibility
Nobody would know if a web shell, crypto-miner or reverse shell were running on a workload.
Legacy systems in cloud
Lifted-and-shifted servers that cannot be patched or replaced but still process critical data.
Ephemeral workloads
Containers and functions live minutes, so traditional agent-based tooling never sees them.
Agent management overhead
Security agents partially deployed, out of date or conflicting across environments.

Workload Vulnerability Management
Continuous, agentless and agent-based vulnerability assessment with risk-based prioritisation.
Runtime Threat Detection
Behavioural detection of web shells, crypto-mining, privilege escalation and lateral movement.
Server Hardening & Benchmarking
CIS benchmark hardening for Windows and Linux workloads with drift detection.
Container & Serverless Protection
Runtime security for Kubernetes workloads, ephemeral containers and functions.
File Integrity & Application Control

SOC Integration & Response
Workload alerts triaged and contained 24/7 by our Dubai SOC within agreed authority.
Our Workload Protection Approach
1. Inventory
Discover every workload across clouds, including ephemeral and unmanaged instances.
2. Assess & Harden
Vulnerability assessment and CIS hardening prioritised by exposure and data sensitivity.
3. Protect
Deploy runtime protection suited to each workload type, agent or agentless.
4. Monitor & Respond
24/7 detection with containment actions and continuous posture tracking.
Why Choose Skytech for Workload Protection?
Skytech Cyber Cloud deploys and operates workload protection across Microsoft Defender for Cloud, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Wiz and Prisma Cloud for clients in banking, government, healthcare, energy and technology across the UAE and GCC.
- Operations-led: our SOC runs what we deploy, so configurations are practical and tuned.
- Mixed estates: Windows, Linux, containers, serverless, cloud and on-premises covered consistently.
- Legacy-aware: compensating controls for systems that cannot be patched or re-platformed.
- Low friction: agentless where possible, agents only where they add real detection value.

Workload Protection FAQs
Is EDR the same as workload protection?
They overlap. EDR focuses on user endpoints; cloud workload protection is built for servers, containers and serverless, where the behaviours, scale and lifecycle differ. Many platforms cover both, but policies must be tuned separately for each.
Do we need agents on every workload?
Not always. Agentless scanning provides broad vulnerability and configuration visibility with no deployment overhead, but runtime threat detection and response generally require an agent. We typically use agentless everywhere and agents on internet-facing and sensitive workloads.
How do you protect workloads that cannot be patched?
With compensating controls: network isolation, application control to restrict what can execute, virtual patching through IPS or WAF, enhanced monitoring and documented risk acceptance for auditors.
Can you protect ephemeral containers and serverless functions?
Yes. We use platform-native and agentless approaches designed for short-lived workloads, including image scanning before deployment and runtime sensors that attach automatically at launch.
How long does workload protection rollout take?
Agentless coverage can be enabled within days. Full agent deployment, policy tuning and SOC integration across a mid-sized estate typically takes 4 to 8 weeks.
Does this satisfy PCI DSS and NESA requirements?
Yes. Vulnerability management, hardening, file integrity monitoring, malware protection and logging on in-scope workloads map directly to PCI DSS, NESA/UAE IA, DESC ISR and ADHICS control requirements, and our reporting evidences them.
