Cloud Security Posture Assessment in UAE
What Is a Cloud Security Posture Assessment?
A cloud security posture assessment is a structured review of how a cloud environment is configured: identities and permissions, network exposure, storage and data protection, encryption and key management, logging and monitoring, and workload hardening.
It differs from a penetration test by aiming for completeness rather than exploitation. The output is a measured posture score, a list of misconfigurations ranked by real risk, and a remediation roadmap your cloud team can execute.
For UAE organisations, the assessment is also the fastest way to produce the cloud control evidence NESA/UAE IA, DESC ISR, CBUAE, ADHICS and ISO 27001 auditors ask for.
Posture Challenges We Solve
Unknown cloud footprint
Nobody has a complete list of subscriptions, accounts and tenants, let alone what runs in them.
Publicly exposed resources
Storage accounts, databases, management ports and dashboards reachable from the internet.
Over-permissive identities
Owner and administrator roles handed out broadly, with service principals nobody can account for.
Logging gaps
Activity, sign-in and data-plane logs are off or short-retained, so nothing can be investigated later.
Benchmark fatigue
Native tools report thousands of findings with no prioritisation, so nothing gets fixed.
Our Assessment Coverage
Identity & Access Review
Entra ID and IAM roles, privileged assignments, conditional access, MFA coverage and service principals.
Network & Exposure Analysis
Public endpoints, security groups, firewalls, private link usage and management plane exposure.
Data Protection & Encryption
Storage exposure, encryption at rest and in transit, key management and backup configuration.
Logging & Monitoring Validation
Verify audit logs, retention periods and alerting against regulatory requirements.
Workload & Container Hardening Review
Virtual machine, container and serverless configuration against CIS benchmarks.
CIS & Provider Benchmarking
Scored assessment against CIS Foundations, Azure Security Benchmark and AWS Well-Architected security pillar.
Regulatory Control Mapping
Findings mapped to NESA/UAE IA, DESC ISR, CBUAE, ADHICS, PDPL, ISO 27001 and PCI DSS.
Prioritised Remediation Roadmap
Risk-ranked fixes with effort estimates, owners and quick wins separated from strategic work.
Our Assessment Process
1. Discover
Inventory tenants, subscriptions, accounts, workloads and data stores in scope.
2. Analyse
Automated benchmarking plus manual review of identity, network, data and logging configuration.
3. Prioritise
Validate findings, remove noise and rank by exploitability and business impact.
4. Report & Plan
Executive summary, technical findings, regulatory mapping and a phased remediation roadmap.
Why Choose Skytech for Cloud Posture Assessment?
Skytech Cyber Cloud’s cloud security engineers hold Azure, AWS and CCSP certifications and assess cloud estates for banks, government entities, healthcare providers and enterprises across the UAE and GCC.
- Validated findings: we triage native tool output so you receive real risks, not a raw export.
- Regulation-mapped: every finding tied to the UAE control it affects, ready for auditors.
- Actionable roadmap: sequenced fixes with effort and owner, not a list of 3,000 alerts.
- Remediation available: our engineers can implement the fixes and deploy continuous CSPM afterwards.

Posture Assessment FAQs
How is a posture assessment different from cloud penetration testing?
A posture assessment reviews configuration comprehensively against benchmarks and regulations. Penetration testing proves what an attacker could actually achieve by chaining weaknesses together. The assessment gives breadth; the test gives proof. Many clients do both.
Do you need administrative access to our cloud?
We need read-only access at the tenant, subscription or account level — for example Security Reader and Global Reader in Azure or a SecurityAudit role in AWS. No changes are made during the assessment.
How long does an assessment take?
A single cloud platform typically takes 2 to 3 weeks including reporting. Multi-cloud estates with Kubernetes, pipelines and Microsoft 365 take 4 to 6 weeks.
Will you use our existing tools or your own?
Both. We use native tooling such as Defender for Cloud and AWS Security Hub where available, supplement with our own assessment tooling, and always add manual review of identity and data configuration.
Can you help fix what you find?
Yes. Our cloud engineers implement remediation, and we can deploy continuous posture management so new misconfigurations are caught automatically rather than waiting for the next assessment.
How often should we reassess?
Annually as a minimum, or after major migrations and architecture changes. Organisations with continuous CSPM in place get ongoing visibility and use the annual assessment for deeper manual and regulatory review.
