Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery in UAE

Skytech Cyber Cloud helps organisations in Dubai and across the UAE stay operational through cyber attacks, outages and disasters. We deliver business impact analysis, ISO 22301-aligned business continuity plans, IT disaster recovery strategies and realistic testing that satisfies NESA/UAE IA, DESC ISR, CBUAE and ADHICS resilience requirements.

What Is Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery?

Business continuity (BC) is the capability to keep critical business functions running during a disruption. Disaster recovery (DR) is the IT and data side of that capability: restoring systems, applications and data within agreed recovery time (RTO) and recovery point (RPO) objectives.

Ransomware, cloud outages, supplier failures and regional events have made resilience a board-level priority in the UAE. Regulators including NESA/UAE IA, DESC ISR, CBUAE and ADHICS require documented, tested continuity and recovery plans, and ISO 22301 provides the certifiable management-system standard.

Our BC/DR consulting in the UAE turns resilience requirements into practical plans, tested playbooks and measurable recovery capability.

BC/DR UAE FAQs

Business continuity covers the whole organisation: people, processes, suppliers and facilities needed to keep operating during a disruption. Disaster recovery is the IT component that restores systems, applications and data to agreed RTO and RPO targets.

ISO 22301 is not legally mandatory, but UAE regulators such as NESA, DESC and CBUAE require business continuity management, and ISO 22301 is the recognised way to demonstrate it. Many government and enterprise tenders request it.

Recovery Time Objective (RTO) is the maximum acceptable time to restore a system or process after disruption. Recovery Point Objective (RPO) is the maximum acceptable data loss measured in time, which determines backup and replication frequency.

At least annually, with critical systems tested more frequently. We recommend quarterly tabletop exercises, annual technical failover tests and a test after any major infrastructure change.

We design immutable and offline backups, isolated recovery environments, clean-room rebuild procedures and decision playbooks, then test restore times so you know you can recover without paying a ransom.

A BIA and strategy typically take 4 to 6 weeks. Full plan development, DR implementation and first exercises usually take 3 to 6 months depending on organisation size and technology complexity.
