Purple Team Assessment in UAE
What Is a Purple Team Assessment?
A purple team assessment is a collaborative exercise that combines offensive testing with defensive engineering. Rather than a covert attack, the red and blue teams work together: the attacker executes a known technique, the defenders check what telemetry and alerts it produced, and together they close any gap before moving to the next technique.
The output is a detection coverage matrix mapped to MITRE ATT&CK showing which techniques are prevented, detected, logged only or completely invisible, plus new detection rules deployed in your SIEM or XDR.
For UAE organisations that have invested in Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, CrowdStrike or Splunk, purple teaming is the fastest way to prove and improve what that investment actually catches.
Detection Challenges We Solve
Unknown detection coverage
Nobody can say which attacker techniques your tools would actually catch.
Tools trusted on faith
Expensive EDR and SIEM licences are assumed to work because the vendor says so.
Rules that never fire
Detection content exists but has never been validated against a real technique.
Red team findings that go nowhere
A previous red team showed failures but the detection gaps were never fixed.
Analyst skills and confidence
SOC analysts rarely see real attacks and need hands-on practice recognising them.
Our Purple Team Services
MITRE ATT&CK Coverage Assessment
Technique-by-technique execution and measurement across the full attack lifecycle.
Detection Engineering & Rule Development
New and tuned detection rules built in your SIEM or XDR during the exercise.
EDR & XDR Validation
Verify prevention and detection in Defender, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne and Cortex against live techniques.
Ransomware Scenario Emulation
Safe emulation of ransomware precursors and behaviours to validate your kill chain coverage.
Threat Actor Emulation Plans
Structured emulation of specific groups targeting your sector in the UAE and GCC.
SOC Analyst Upskilling
Hands-on sessions where your analysts triage the techniques we execute in real time.
Logging & Telemetry Gap Analysis
Identify missing log sources and configuration that leave detections blind.
Coverage Reporting & Roadmap
ATT&CK heat map, before and after scores and a prioritised detection improvement plan.
Our Purple Team Process
1. Plan
Select techniques and scenarios based on your threat profile and current tooling.
2. Execute Together
Run each technique with defenders watching consoles in real time.
3. Measure & Build
Record prevented, detected, logged or missed, then build detections for the gaps.
4. Retest & Report
Re-run techniques to confirm new detections fire, with before and after coverage scores.
Why Choose Skytech for Purple Teaming?
Skytech Cyber Cloud runs its own 24/7 SOC, so our purple team brings both offensive operators and detection engineers who build content for a living. We have delivered purple team exercises for banks, government entities and enterprises across the UAE and GCC on Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, CrowdStrike and Splunk.
- Measurable outcome: coverage percentages before and after, not subjective findings.
- Detections delivered: we leave working rules in your platform, not recommendations to write them.
- Skills transfer: your analysts learn by triaging live techniques alongside our team.
- Safe execution: controlled, reversible techniques with no production impact.

Purple Team FAQs
What is the difference between purple teaming and red teaming?
Red teaming is covert and goal-based, testing whether you detect a real attacker. Purple teaming is collaborative and transparent: attackers and defenders work together technique by technique to measure and immediately improve detection coverage. Purple teaming usually delivers faster improvement; red teaming gives a truer test of readiness.
How long does a purple team exercise take?
A focused exercise covering a scenario such as ransomware takes 5 to 8 days. A broad ATT&CK coverage assessment across the full lifecycle typically takes 2 to 3 weeks including detection engineering.
Do you need access to our SIEM and EDR?
Yes, read access at minimum so we can verify telemetry and alerts, and write access if you want us to build and deploy detection rules during the exercise.
Is it safe to run attack techniques in production?
Yes. We use controlled, reversible, non-destructive technique emulation with agreed safety limits, and coordinate every execution with your team in real time.
What do we receive at the end?
An ATT&CK coverage heat map with before and after scores, the detection rules built during the exercise, a gap analysis of missing log sources and a prioritised roadmap for further improvement.
Should we do purple teaming before a red team exercise?
Usually yes. Purple teaming raises your detection baseline efficiently, which makes a subsequent red team exercise a more meaningful test of your response capability.
