Cloud Penetration Testing in UAE
What Is Cloud Penetration Testing?
Cloud penetration testing assesses the security of cloud platforms, identities and workloads: IAM roles and policies, storage exposure, network configuration, serverless functions, container platforms and the SaaS control planes such as Microsoft 365 that sit on top of them.
Unlike traditional infrastructure testing, most cloud attack paths are identity-driven. A function with an over-permissive role, a managed identity reachable from a compromised VM, or a consented OAuth application can lead straight to data at scale, without a single exploit.
Testing follows the shared responsibility model and the provider’s rules of engagement, and supports NESA/UAE IA, DESC ISR, CBUAE and PCI DSS cloud requirements along with UAE data-residency expectations.
Cloud Challenges We Solve
Over-permissive identities
Roles, managed identities and service principals with far more permission than their workload needs.
Exposed storage and data
Public buckets, blob containers and snapshots holding customer data and backups.
Microsoft 365 tenant weaknesses
Consented OAuth apps, weak conditional access, mailbox delegation and token theft paths.
Insecure CI/CD and secrets
Pipeline credentials and hardcoded keys that give attackers a route into production.
Container and Kubernetes exposure
Privileged pods, exposed dashboards and weak namespace isolation.
Our Cloud Testing Services
Azure Penetration Testing
Entra ID, subscriptions, managed identities, storage, key vaults, functions and network exposure.
AWS Penetration Testing
IAM policy abuse, S3 exposure, Lambda, EC2 metadata, privilege escalation chains and account boundaries.
Microsoft 365 Security Assessment
Tenant configuration, conditional access, OAuth consent abuse, SharePoint and Exchange exposure.
Cloud Identity & Privilege Escalation Testing
Map paths from a low-privilege foothold to global administrator or account takeover.
Kubernetes & Container Security Testing
Cluster configuration, RBAC, pod escape, image and registry security.
CI/CD Pipeline & Secrets Testing
Pipeline privilege abuse, secret exposure and supply-chain weaknesses.
Cloud Configuration Review (CSPM)
Benchmark configuration against CIS, provider best practice and UAE residency requirements.
Hybrid Attack Path Testing
From on-premises Active Directory into cloud and back, the way real attackers pivot.
Our Cloud Testing Process
1. Scope & Authorise
Agree accounts, subscriptions, provider rules of engagement and safety boundaries.
2. Enumerate
Map identities, permissions, resources, exposure and trust relationships.
3. Exploit & Escalate
Follow privilege escalation and data access paths from assumed-breach starting points.
4. Report & Retest
Attack path diagrams, risk-rated findings, remediation guidance and free retest.
Why Choose Skytech for Cloud Testing?
Skytech Cyber Cloud is a Microsoft-focused security partner with deep Azure and Microsoft 365 expertise alongside AWS testing capability. Our testers hold OSCP, Azure and AWS security certifications and work with banks, government entities, healthcare and technology companies across the UAE and GCC.
- Identity-first testing: we chase the permission chains that cause real cloud breaches.
- Provider-compliant: testing conducted within Microsoft and AWS rules of engagement.
- Hybrid reality: on-premises to cloud pivots tested, not just the cloud in isolation.
- Engineering follow-up: our cloud engineers can implement the hardening we recommend.

Cloud Testing FAQs
Do we need permission from Microsoft or AWS to test?
Both providers permit customer-initiated penetration testing of your own resources under published rules of engagement, with no advance approval needed for most activities. Certain tests such as denial of service remain prohibited. We work within those rules and document compliance.
What is the difference between cloud penetration testing and a CSPM scan?
A cloud security posture management scan checks configuration against benchmarks. Penetration testing proves what an attacker could actually do: chaining a misconfiguration with an over-permissive role and a reachable workload into real data access.
How long does a cloud penetration test take?
A single Azure or AWS environment typically takes 5 to 10 days. Adding Microsoft 365, Kubernetes or multi-account estates extends this to 2 to 4 weeks.
Do you test Microsoft 365 as well as Azure?
Yes. Microsoft 365 tenant testing covers conditional access bypass, OAuth consent abuse, mailbox and SharePoint exposure, guest access and token theft scenarios, which are among the most exploited paths in the region.
Will testing affect our production cloud workloads?
No. We use read and enumeration-heavy techniques, agree destructive-test exclusions in advance and coordinate any higher-impact action with your team during agreed windows.
Does cloud testing help with UAE data residency compliance?
Yes. Our configuration review covers data location, encryption, key management and access controls relevant to the PDPL, CBUAE and NESA residency and protection expectations.
