Microsoft Defender XDR Security Suite in UAE
What Is Microsoft Defender XDR?
Microsoft Defender XDR is an extended detection and response platform that unifies Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identity and Defender for Cloud Apps into one console. It correlates signals across those domains into single incidents, shows the full attack story and supports automated investigation and response.
The correlation is the point. A phishing email, a credential used from an unusual location and a suspicious process on a laptop are three low-priority alerts separately; together they are an active intrusion.
For UAE organisations with Microsoft 365 E5 or Defender plans, this capability is usually already licensed and often only partially enabled.
Defender XDR Challenges We Solve
Partial onboarding
Defender for Endpoint is deployed but Identity, Office 365 or Cloud Apps were never connected, breaking correlation.
Noisy, untuned policies
Default attack surface reduction and alert settings generate false positives that erode trust.
Automation switched off
Automated investigation and response left disabled, so every incident needs manual work.
Nobody triaging incidents
The portal fills with incidents because there is no 24/7 team to investigate and close them.
Legacy antivirus conflicts
Third-party AV left in place alongside Defender, degrading both and creating gaps.

Why Choose Skytech for Defender XDR?
Skytech Cyber Cloud’s SOC runs on Defender XDR and Sentinel daily, and our engineers hold SC-200, SC-300 and MS-500 certifications. We have deployed the suite for banks, government entities, healthcare providers and enterprises across the UAE and GCC.
- Full-suite correlation: all four workloads onboarded, because partial deployment breaks the main benefit.
- Tuned for your business: protection without the false positives that get rules switched off.
- Operated in-region: UAE-based analysts with response authority agreed in advance.
- Licence-efficient: maximum value from the E5 or Defender plans you already hold.

Defender XDR FAQs
What licences do we need for Defender XDR?
Microsoft 365 E5 or E5 Security includes the full suite. Individual components can be licensed separately: Defender for Endpoint P2, Defender for Office 365 P2, Defender for Identity and Defender for Cloud Apps. We confirm your entitlement before any deployment.
Do we need Sentinel as well as Defender XDR?
Not always, but usually. Defender XDR excels at fast detection and response within Microsoft workloads. Sentinel adds long-term log retention for compliance, ingestion of non-Microsoft sources such as firewalls and OT, and custom analytics. Many clients run both with Defender incidents flowing into Sentinel.
Can Defender replace our existing antivirus?
Yes. Defender for Endpoint is a full EDR and antivirus platform. We plan migration carefully, running in passive mode during transition and removing the legacy product cleanly to avoid conflicts and gaps.
How long does deployment take?
Endpoint onboarding for a mid-sized organisation takes 2 to 4 weeks. Full suite deployment across endpoint, identity, email and cloud apps with tuning typically takes 6 to 10 weeks.
Does Defender XDR cover Mac, Linux and mobile?
Yes. Defender for Endpoint supports Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android, though feature depth varies by platform. We set expectations per platform during scoping.
Can your SOC manage it for us?
Yes. Our managed Defender XDR service provides 24/7 triage, threat hunting, containment and reporting from our Dubai SOC, using your tenant and your licences.
