Healthcare Cybersecurity Services in UAE
What Healthcare Cybersecurity Involves in the UAE
Healthcare cybersecurity protects electronic medical records, patient identities, connected medical devices, laboratory and imaging systems and the clinical workflows that depend on them. A breach risks patient safety and care continuity, not just data.
The UAE has one of the most prescriptive healthcare security regimes in the region. Federal Law No. 2 of 2019 on the use of ICT in health fields restricts where health data may be stored and processed, the Abu Dhabi Department of Health mandates the ADHICS standard, and the Dubai Health Authority sets its own information security policies for licensed facilities.
Layered on top are the UAE PDPL, NESA/UAE IA for government-linked providers and the accreditation expectations of JCI and insurers. Our healthcare practice turns these overlapping requirements into one practical control programme.
Healthcare Security Challenges We Solve
Ransomware against care delivery
Attacks that take EMR, PACS and lab systems offline. We harden, segment and monitor so clinical services keep running.
Unpatchable medical devices
Infusion pumps, imaging and monitoring equipment on legacy operating systems. We isolate and monitor them without touching vendor configurations.
ADHICS and DHA audits
Hundreds of controls, limited staff and tight deadlines. We run gap assessments, remediation and evidence packs.
Health data residency
Cloud, telehealth and offshore vendors that may breach the ICT Health Law. We map data flows and design compliant architectures.
Staff and third-party access
Rotating clinicians, locums and vendors with broad access. We implement role-based access and privileged controls that respect clinical urgency.

How We Secure Healthcare Organisations
1. Clinical Risk Assessment
We map patient data flows, clinical systems, medical devices and regulatory obligations to identify the risks that threaten care.
2. Compliance Gap Analysis
Controls assessed against ADHICS, DHA, ICT Health Law and PDPL with a prioritised, costed remediation roadmap.
3. Implement Without Disruption
Segmentation, identity, endpoint and monitoring controls deployed around clinical schedules with change windows agreed with care teams.
4. Monitor, Test & Evidence
24/7 SOC coverage, annual testing and maintained evidence keep you audit-ready and resilient.

Healthcare Cybersecurity UAE FAQs
What is ADHICS and who must comply?
The Abu Dhabi Healthcare Information and Cyber Security Standard is mandated by the Department of Health Abu Dhabi for all licensed healthcare entities in the emirate, including hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, laboratories and health insurers’ networks. It sets controls across governance, access, asset, network, cloud and incident management.
Can UAE health data be stored in the cloud?
Federal Law No. 2 of 2019 requires health information to be stored and processed inside the UAE unless an exception applies. In-country Azure, AWS and Google Cloud regions can be used with the right architecture and contracts. We design and document compliant cloud deployments.
How do you secure medical devices that cannot be patched?
We inventory devices passively, place them in dedicated network zones with strict access rules, monitor their traffic for anomalies and work with vendors on compensating controls, following IEC 62443 and manufacturer guidance so devices stay safe and supported.
What happens to patient care during a ransomware attack?
With tested downtime procedures, segmented networks and immutable backups, clinical teams can continue on paper or standby systems while our SOC contains the attack and restores services in priority order. We build and rehearse these plans with you.
Do you work with DHA-licensed facilities in Dubai?
Yes. We support DHA-licensed hospitals and clinics with DHA information security policy compliance, Nabidh and Malaffi connectivity security, PDPL obligations and penetration testing of patient-facing systems.
How long does ADHICS compliance take?
A gap assessment takes three to four weeks. Remediation typically runs three to nine months depending on facility size and starting maturity, after which we support the DoH audit and ongoing compliance.
